No one does anything for no reason. When life gets way more real than it ought to, it forces people to have to adjust their policies. The first young lady… nobody does what prostitutes do because that’s where they want to be. Maybe she would have rather been home with her little girls reading a bedtime story. But instead, because she would do anything for them to be able to have the basics, like getting to eat spaghetti and have a cake on their birthday, or not have to wear dirty tennis shoes that hurt because they’re too small and used to belong to some other kid, or get to have beds, and backpacks for school… and maybe even get to have a friend over for supper and a sleepover. NORMAL costs a lot, one way or another. So, no rest for the wicked, no matter how exhausted their soul gets. Life gets very hard when you find yourself on the wrong part of a slippery slope in a rain storm, with no way out or up. Then it ends up becoming “normal”. So sad. You never know what another person is going through. And it has nothing to do with you. Remember that.
